Description

LOCTITE® 263™ is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration.

LOCTITE® 263™ is particularly suited for heavy duty applications such as studs into motor housings, nuts onto studs in pump housings and other fasteners where high strength is requiredLOCTITE® 263™ provides robust curing performance. It not only works on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. The product offers high-temperature performance and oil tolerance. It tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids.

The rate of cure will depend on the substrate, bond gap, activator and temperature (Consult the Technical Data Sheet).

Warning:

1. The product is not recommended for use as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
2. The percentage of initial strength may decrease or fail by changing temperature, chemical/solvent resistance, gap size and aging.
3. This product is not normally recommended for use on plastics (particularly thermoplastic materials where stress cracking of the plastic could result).
4. Where aqueous washing systems are used to clean the surfaces before bonding, it is important to check for compatibility of the washing solution with the adhesive. In some cases, these aqueous washes can affect the cure and performance of the adhesive.

Conditions for safe storage:

For safe storage, store at or below 38 °C (100.4 °F) Keep in a cool, well-ventilated area away from heat, sparks and open flame. Keep container tightly closed until ready for use.
