New Loctite 401 handles heat aging much better than the old design. It is designed for the assembly of difficult to bond materials which require uniform stress distribution and strong tension and/or shear strength. The product provides rapid bonding of a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics and elastomers. LOCTITE® 401™ is particularly suited for bonding porous or absorbent materials such as wood, paper, leather and fabric.
Under normal conditions, the atmospheric moisture initiates the curing process. Although full functional strength is developed in a relatively short time, curing continues for at least 24 hours before full chemical/solvent resistance is developed.

Warning:
- The product is not recommended for use as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
- The percentage of initial strength may decrease or fail by changing temperature, chemical/solvent resistance, gap size and aging.
Conditions for safe storage:
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
For optimum shelf life store in original containers under refrigerated conditions at 2 – 8°C (35.6 – 46.4 °F)
Keep away from heat and direct sunlight.
Keep container tightly sealed.
